The odds of obtaining a specific Potential and its stat bonus differ depending on the Potential's rank, and become more rare as the Potential becomes stronger.</p>\n<p>You can find out the rank by the color of border around the item, text below the item name, and the Potential mark on the bottom of the Equip item's tooltip.</p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img src=\"https://g.nexonstatic.com/media/5a5g0qxu/item-potential-rarities.png\" alt=\"MapleStory Potential Ranks\"></p>\n<a name=\"adding\"></a>\n<h3><strong>Adding Potential</strong></h3>\n<p>Equipment without Potential that was obtained through hunting monsters or via the Smithing Profession can be given a Potential line by using a <strong>Potential Scroll</strong>. There are many different types of Potential Scrolls, including item-specific Potential Scrolls, so make sure you use the right ones!</p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img src=\"https://g.nexonstatic.com/media/sslp1q5h/adding-potential-v2.png\" alt=\"MapleStory Adding Potential\"></p>\n<a name=\"bonus\"></a>\n<h3><strong>Bonus Potential</strong></h3>\n<p>Equipment with Potential can also be given <strong>Bonus Potential</strong>, unlocking new stat lines that can also be reset and improved. This can be granted via special scrolls, such as the <strong>Bonus Potential Scroll</strong> (70%) or <strong>Special Bonus Potential Scroll</strong> that can be purchased with <strong>Cube Pieces</strong> obtained from using Cubes.</p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img src=\"https://g.nexonstatic.com/media/vz4ld145/adding-bonus-potential.png\" alt=\"MapleStory Adding Bonus Potential\"></p>\n<a name=\"resetting\"></a>\n<h3><strong>Resetting Potential</strong></h3>\n<p>Because Potential stats are given at random, you may not get the bonuses that you were hoping for.
